The Forgotten People: An Encore Performance

A celebration of the wartime broadcast that defined modern Australia

Featuring a live re-enactment from actor PETER COUSENS as ROBERT MENZIES

With Special Guests:
The Hon Josh Frydenberg MP
Former and current Parliamentarians

You are cordially invited to a very special dinner in Melbourne on November 21 at which the actor Peter Cousens will be delivering an encore performance as Robert Menzies in The Forgotten People.

When the Menzies Research Centre staged a recreation of Menzies’ famous radio address in Canberra in May to mark its 75th anniversary, the Centre was astonished with the response. It was a tribute to Cousens’ mastery of the role and Menzies’ sardonic wit and profound wisdom.

The encore performance will bring Menzies back home to Melbourne. We have booked the historic Hawthorn Town Hall (aka Hawthorn Arts Centre) for the event, a place where Menzies gave many great speeches over four decades.

We hope you can join us on the night for what will be a performance to remember.
