Josh Frydenberg Breakfast

The Menzies Research Centre presents

POWER ON POWER OFF: Rebooting the National Energy Market

with THE HON JOSH FRYDENBERG MP
Minister for the Environment and Energy

joined by TONY SHEPHERD AO

Join us for breakfast in Melbourne on December 1 to talk energy with the Minister for the Environment and Energy, the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP and The Shepherd Review's Chairman, Tony Shepherd AO.

The Environment and Energy Minister has agreed to launch the Shepherd Review’s report Power Off Power On: Rebooting the National Energy Market.

We know that Australians would prefer their electricity to be reliable, affordable and clean. But that cannot happen without a trading system that rewards those who provide the best power at the lowest price.

That’s why fixing the energy market is the biggest step we can take towards repairing our broken energy system.

Power Off Power On steps beyond the clouded debate about climate and energy to go to the heart of the problem: ending the subsidies and other market distortions that discourage investment, reward imperfect technology and put up prices.
